Happy Lunar New Year — Year of the Fire Horse!
February 17, 2026
At Keys, we welcomed the Lunar New Year by coming together as one joyful community across our middle school campus. Students joined inter-grade buddy groups to celebrate through hands-on cultural activities: practicing calligraphy, creating intricate paper cuttings, testing their skills with a chopsticks picking game, and playing Jianzi (a traditional Chinese shuttlecock game that builds teamwork).
The celebration continued in the gym with a stunning Guzheng performance by the Chiffon Fu Guzheng Ensemble, followed by an energetic lion dance, a beloved cultural tradition that symbolizes good fortune and the driving away of negative energy. Rooted in history along the Silk Road, the lion dance brings a mythical creature to life through movement and community spirit.
Wishing our community a year filled with energy, courage, and new beginnings. Happy Lunar New Year!
