Outdoor Education
Taking Learning Outdoors
Outdoor Education is a vital part of the Keys curriculum, giving students the chance to connect with nature, build friendships, and extend their learning beyond the classroom. Each trip supports personal growth, teamwork, and ties directly into our science and social studies programs. For grades 2–8, we partner with Naturalists at Large to guide and enrich these experiences with expert-led outdoor learning.
Each year, our students embark on memorable Outdoor Education adventures, with one trip offered for Kindergarten through Third Grade and two trips—one in the fall and one in the spring—for students in Fourth through Eighth Grade. These experiences support our social-emotional learning goals, helping students develop confidence, collaboration, and resilience.
We are excited to continue this tradition in the 2025–2026 school year with a full schedule of trips for each grade level. While we do not anticipate changes to the dates or locations, all trip details are subject to change and will be communicated via email as needed.
During each Outdoor Ed trip, students will:
- Participate in team-building games and group challenges
- Explore natural ecosystems through hands-on learning
Make connections to classroom topics in science and social studies - Build confidence, independence, and peer relationships
Enjoy fun, memorable experiences that help shape the school year - Outdoor Education is more than a field trip—it’s an immersive journey that helps bring our learning community to life.
- We can’t wait to see where the journey takes us this coming school year!
