While tuition covers many of the expenses of a Keys education, it does not cover all of them. We rely on the Annual Fund to raise funds for the people and programs that are vital to Keys, directly benefiting our students on a daily basis this school year.

Your contribution to the Annual Fund will be put to work right away to help pay for essential budgeted expenses – our wonderful faculty, innovative curriculum design, dynamic programs deeply focused on social and emotional learning, essential tech needs, financial assistance, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice efforts…just to name a few. And you can direct your donation to one of several specific areas of interest within Annual Fund: Where Keys Needs It Most, Financial Assistance, Class Experience, Professional Development, or Outdoor Education and Off-Campus Activities.

Like most independent schools, Keys intentionally sets tuition below the full cost of education to keep our school more affordable to a wider range of families and to preserve our inclusive community. In addition, unlike tuition, donations to the Annual Fund are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

We are very lucky to have a vibrant culture of giving in which 100% (or close to it) of our Keys community has participated in the Annual Fund for more years than we can count. We’re very proud of our participation level because it shows our community’s deep commitment to supporting our students “above and beyond.” Keys is among a small group of schools to reach this participation level not just one year, but every year, among our current parents/caregivers, trustees, faculty, and staff. We are also grateful for the generous donations Keys receives from alumni families, grandparents, corporate supporters, and other friends affiliated with our school.

To preserve the integrity of our admissions process and avoid any appearance of impropriety, Keys does not accept donations from families who are in an active admissions cycle or who anticipate applying in the future. The only exception is for current Keys families who already have a student enrolled.

We look forward to connecting with newly enrolled families after the admissions process is complete to share more about philanthropic opportunities at Keys.

We hope that Keys will be one of the top philanthropic priorities of our current and alumni families. If the requested donation amount or more is possible for your family, please consider supporting Keys with a gift at that level. We understand that not every family is able to give at the requested level, and we welcome you to make a donation that feels right for your family. We recognize and respect that each family has its own unique financial situation, and we encourage you to make a donation that is meaningful to you and your family.

Every gift is appreciated and helps us reach our goal of 100% participation in support of our students.

We ask that our current families make their gift or pledge by January 30, 2026. However, early gifts and pledges are very much appreciated as Annual Fund donations are used for this school year.

In early fall, our team of Annual Fund parent volunteers will begin reaching out with a friendly reminder to all families who have not yet made a gift or pledge. They are very nice…we promise!

Note that pledge payments can be made at any time on or before May 1, 2026.

Yes – we will exclude your name from our 2025-26 Annual Report if you choose to be anonymous.

If making your gift online, you may check the box to make your gift anonymous, or if giving another way, you can let us know by emailing givetokeys@keysschool.org at the time that you make your Annual Fund donation (or any time before the end of the 2025-26 school year).

Yes! Keys received matching gifts last year totaling more than $300,000 – matching gifts are an important part of our Annual Fund campaign and directly benefit our students each year.

Visit our matching gifts page to find out if your employer has a matching gift program – and if found, you will be able to click on a link to take you directly to your employer’s internal portal. Please remember that Keys is often listed as “Keys Family Day School.”

You may also email the Keys Development Team, and we will help you. Matching gift programs can increase the impact of your donation at no additional cost to you. If an employer is eligible, you can request a matching gift form from your employer, complete it, and submit it to the employer.
