We believe something special happens when you intentionally combine the lower and middle school curriculum. Whether your child begins their Keys experience in our Kindergarten program or enters into the Middle School as a 5th grader, they can expect a uniquely different experience they won’t get anywhere else.

Keys students get to be kids longer.

It can feel like today’s world requires our children to grow up fast, but at Keys, we believe that kids should be allowed to be kids. Our distinct Lower School and Middle Schools provide optimal age-appropriate environments where our students feel safe and a sense of belonging.

Two schools—but all in one.

Our K-8 school community creates unique opportunities for social learning, relationship-building, mentoring, and leadership across grade levels. Older students at Keys serve in student government, participate in interscholastic athletic teams, conduct school-wide service activities, and serve as buddies to the younger students. Younger students can see what’s possible and benefit from these relationships and role models. Our students develop strong interpersonal skills which they rely on to become effective members of project groups, sports teams, and music ensembles far beyond Keys and the 8th grade.

Grade-level Roadmap
Our Grade-Level Roadmap for Social Science is designed to guide students through the journey of identity formation from early childhood through adolescence. Starting with self-awareness in Kindergarten, progressing to understanding personal beliefs in Second Grade, exploring influential changemakers in Fifth Grade, and culminating with a deep dive into civil rights in Eighth Grade, each stage builds on the previous to help students discover their place in the world and their role in shaping a just society.
We start by focusing on the individual—exploring things we love about ourselves, feelings we have, and how kindness is inspired in each of us.
