A 20 Pound Harvest
October 6, 2026
Over the past year, our 8th graders have planted seeds, cared for growing plants, harvested vegetables, and helped turn our garden into a small but productive source of fresh food for our community.
Over the course of their gardening adventures, they grew food that resulted in nearly 20 pounds of donated fresh vegetables! Their harvests included baby kale, bok choy, sugar snap peas, spicy red peppers, bell peppers, and potatoes.
We donated the produce to Redwood City Catholic Worker House, a local organization that is able to accept fresh garden produce and use it as part of its work providing food to people in the community.
And now the garden passes into new hands! Our incoming 7th graders will take over the gardening adventures, building on what this year’s 8th graders started and seeing what they can grow and contribute over the coming year.
