Día de Muertos at Middle School!
November 7, 2025
To honor the millennial tradition of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), all of our Middle School Spanish students collaborated to create a school-wide altar! 5th Grade hand-crafted cempasúchil flowers (marigolds); 6th Grade created pan de muerto (bread of the dead), and 7th Grade calacas (skulls), both with clay. Last but not least, 8th Grade crafted their own ofrendas to honor and remember a family member (human and furry!) or any other person of their choosing! Last Friday, our 8th Grade class continued our tradition of putting it all together under the oak tree. Our community also participated, bringing in pictures of deceased family members they wanted to honor and remember.
