“Truly Me”

Second graders are currently in the process of crafting “Truly Me” narrative stories, which tie closely with their Social Studies unit on Identity. In today’s lesson, they learned to capture their readers’ attention with a bold beginning by using sensory details to describe their settings. Throughout this unit, writers will continue to keep the purpose and audience in mind and be intentional about their ideas, word choice, and voice. Giving students choice and autonomy is what makes for meaningful writing experiences!
