First graders are exploring these questions through Esti-Mysteries, an engaging way to build mathematical reasoning through estimation, clues, and curiosity.
As students work to solve each mystery, they practice the habits of strong mathematicians: curiosity, flexible thinking, perseverance, and valuing mistakes. They are learning that there can be more than one way to approach a problem, and that changing your thinking is part of the process.
